WHAT MAKES FRENCH HEN FARM DIFFERENT FROM OTHER VENUES?

Most venues offer you a space. We offer a fully designed experience. A beautiful garden estate setting, a full wedding weekend, a curated collection of decor (saving you thousands of dollars!) completely in place when you arrive. It’s more intentional, more personal and far more seamless than a traditional venue experience.

WHAT DOES “DECOR INCLUDED” MEAN?

From ceremony arbors and florals to centerpieces, tables, chairs, tablecloths, signage, our own photo booth, chandeliers, and styling elements — everything has already been thoughtfully curated to work together beautifully. You choose the items you love.

Rather than sourcing rentals and trying to create a cohesive look, your wedding will feel complete the moment you arrive. We have an in house designer that can help pull your vision together! AND it’s all set up for you when you arrive! And we tear it down too! We are very hands on during your event to make sure everything is perfect!

CAN WE STILL PERSONALIZE OUR WEDDING?

Absolutely! While the space is fully designed, every wedding still feels personal. We work with you to incorporate your style and vision and any personal items you want to include within our curated environment — creating something that reflects your story while maintaining the elevated aesthetic French Hen Farm is known for.

Your wedding will be completely unique to you. While the design foundation is cohesive, each wedding takes on its own feel based on your vision, your styling choices, your florals, and the way the day unfolds!

The result is a wedding that feels both elevated and entirely your own.

DO WE NEED TO RENT ANYTHING ELSE?

In most cases, no.

What many couples spend months sourcing and coordinating is already here — thoughtfully designed and ready to use.

This not only simplifies the planning process, but often results in a more efficient overall investment — without sacrificing beauty or quality.

(Save your money for your honeymoon or buying a house!)

IS THIS AN ALL INCLUSIVE VENUE?

We like to think of it differently.

Rather than being all-inclusive in a traditional sense, French Hen Farm offers a fully designed environment and experience — giving you the benefits of ease and cohesion without feeling packaged or impersonal. You still get to choose all your vendors. This enables you to personalize your wedding even more!

DO YOU ALLOW OUTSIDE VENDORS?

Yes! We do allow outside vendors, this is YOUR day! You may choose what ever licensed and insured vendors you want.  We have a great list of wonderful vendors that we have worked with before to get you started!  We have floral designers, wedding coordinators, caterers, photographers, DJ’s, videographers, bartenders, etc. 

But you pick who you want!

All vendors must provide their Certificate of Insurance prior to your event.

DO YOU HAVE A CATERING KITCHEN ON SITE?

No, we do not have an on site kitchen. We have a designated area for caterers that can be curtained off. Caterers will need to bring prepared food with sterno/ heating. We do require a licensed and insured caterer. We do not allow drop off food.

DO YOU HAVE SPACES FOR US TO GET READY?

Yes! We have a gorgeous suite upstairs in the barn and we have a brand new partners cabin!

DO YOU ALLOW ALCOHOL?

Yes, we do allow alcohol. However, we do require all alcohol to be served by a certified and insured bartender.  We have a list of names to help you find one.

We do have a no shot policy. We want all your memories to happy ones!

We also do require you to have an event insurance policy for the weekend.  These can be purchased online.  Again we have a list of companies. This covers you and French Hen Farm in the event of something happening. Approximate cost less than $200.

DO YOU PROVIDE TABLES & CHAIRS?

Yes, we have white padded chairs, round 6 foot tables (seat 10 people) and 8 foot rectangular banquet tables (seat 8 people), 2- 8 foot wood farm tables and 6 high top cocktail tables​ and a misc collection of other tables. White table cloths are included! As are table runners!

WHAT IS YOUR CAPACITY?

The barn comfortably holds 110 guests. For winter events we are at 100 guests (because of all the wonderful Holiday decorations!) This allows for a beautiful wedding regardless of the weather (inside or out!) and is a perfect for your closest family and friends (and budget friendly!)

WHEN CAN I SEE THE PROPERTY?

Choosing your venue is about more than how it looks — it’s about how it feels.

At French Hen Farm, we’ve created an experience that is thoughtful, elevated, and intentionally designed from beginning to end.

WHAT MONTHS ARE AVAILABLE TO RENT?

We can host events year round, we have heat and air conditioning.

WHAT ALL DOES THE RENTAL FEE INCLUDE?

The rental fee includes Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday morning to come gather your things!  Contact us for current rate. We only host one wedding per weekend.  We want you and your family to have a wonderful stress free weekend!

The rental includes access to outdoor venue space, indoor climate controlled barn venue space, bridal suites, outdoor lit parking space and:

72” round tables, 8’ banquet tables, 8’ wood farm tables, cocktail tables

White padded chairs

White table linens for all tables and table runners

5 trash cans

Authentic vintage chandelier lighting

A beautiful vintage wooden bar on wheels under our covered patio for cocktail hour including our own Photo Booth!

We will start an evening bonfire for you and your guests! (you can have s’mores if you want!)

Our entire Curated Collection of decor & prop items to chose from to make your wedding unique.  Our in house design services are complimentary - we can help you choose the collection to match your vision! Including our own Photo Booth.

And when you arrive on Friday everything will be set up for you!

And we tear down too!

DO YOU REQUIRE A SECURITY RETAINER?

We require $500 security retainer to hold your date. (check, cash or venmo)  We will need a signed contract at this time also.   This retainer simply says you are serious about booking.  This is non refundable if you cancel.  After your wedding is over and there are no damages, we will refund the money.  Any damages will be subtracted from this amount.

CAN WE RENT THE PROPERTY FOR PHOTOSHOOTS OR OTHER EVENTS?

We specialize in weddings over the weekends but we do allow photo shoots and other events during the week.  The property has a climate controlled barn, gardens, pine tree grove, greenhouse, pond with fountain and tons of photo opportunities!

We also do showers and other celebrations on select Sunday afternoons, through out the week and during off season..

Holiday parties are extra special and magical here on the Farm as we decorate the space for Holiday events! Reserve your Holiday party early, because we book up in advance quickly.

WHAT TYPE OF DECORATIONS/THINGS ARE PROHIBITED?

We do not allow fake flower petals at the outside ceremony, they must be real. We also do not allow helium balloons, confetti, Chinese sky lanterns, glitter, silly string, fake snow, or rice anywhere on the property. 

No open flames are allowed in the wood barn. Candles are permitted in containers and we have flameless candles in our prop collection.

No smoke machines, cold spark, haze machines, fireworks. (we do allow sparkler sendoffs outside)

No firearms are permitted on the property.

No smoking or vaping in barn or suites – smoking receptacles are provided outside.

 DO YOU HAVE A PLACE FOR A REHEARSAL DINNER?

Since you get the barn Friday afternoon, you can have your rehearsal and rehearsal dinner here at the barn if you choose at no additional charge!

WHO CLEANS UP AFTER MY EVENT? 

All food needs to be cleaned off tables and removed from barn at end of evening on Saturday night. We will take care of tear down.

Sunday morning is available for gathering up your belongings.

WHEN IS MY PAYMENT DUE?

Your security retainer is due the day you book. One half of your payment is due 2 months prior to your wedding date.  Your balance is due 2 weeks before your event date.

We will need a copy of your event insurance policy, your vendor listing, your vendors insurance policies and your finalized guest count and your decor choices before our walkthrough (usually a month prior)

Many of our couples choose to make payments along the way.

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS

We have many beautiful photo opportunities on the Farm. We allow our booked couples to come out with their photographer and do a one hour engagement photo session on the Farm. Must make an appointment.

DO YOU ALLOW PETS?

We love our pets too! We know your dog is like a family member, so we do allow you to have your dog for ceremony and for photos. Dogs must be on leash and cleaned up after. We do not allow dogs in the suites. All pups must leave after the ceremony (not be crated). We do not allow any guests to bring any animals unless they are service animals (no emotional support animals, etc). All animals must have written permission from FHF prior to event.
